1 cup sugar
2 cups of milk
Half a cup of heavy cream
3 eggs, plus 3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla

Make the caramel first
Set baking dish aside in a small heavy saucepan, bring 3/4 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons water to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring skillet until sugar dissolves 2 minutes.

To loosen the mold, run a sharp, thin knife around the sides of the loaf.
