Dr. Agarid Al-Jammal, a professor of dermatology, confirmed that photosensitivity occurs from exposure to sunlight for long periods, as the sun’s rays are scorching in July and August, so methods of preventing sunstroke and photosensitivity and taking care of the skin must be followed.

Agarid Al-Jammal explained that it is necessary to stay away from direct exposure to the sun from 12 noon to four in the afternoon, as well as to stay away from going into the sea or swimming pool during this period, because the wavelength of the sun during this period penetrates the skin and may cause sunburn.

She advised the need to use a sunscreen with a protection degree above 50, or to use natural creams from aloe vera and other natural materials.

The professor of dermatology warned girls and women not to use foundation or make-up on the face while out in the sun, because they interfere with the sun's rays and cause skin sensitivity.

And about ways to preserve the skin and prevent it from drying out due to high heat, she said that natural masks should be made for the skin every week, and dry skin can make a mask of a small honey spoon with a small spoon of yogurt and half a spoon of rose water and leave it for 10 minutes to give freshness to the skin and absorb microbes and remove dead cells .

And Dr. Agarid provided a mask for oily skin, consisting of a spoon of honey and half a lemon for holding the skin and half a spoon of rose water, and a mask for normal skin can be made of a spoon of honey, egg white and half a spoon of rose water.

Dr. Agarid advised that it is necessary to drink 2 liters of water to regenerate skin cells, as well as sleep for 6 hours a day.

She stressed that healthy nutrition and the colorful green salad, which contains antioxidants and vitamins, helps hydrate the body at high temperatures, stressing the need to stay away from fast food.
