Dr. Mila Mikatyuk, a Russian nutrition expert, said in an interview with the Russian RIA Novosti news agency that due to the rhythm of contemporary life, and the lack of commitment to a healthy diet and bad habits, the liver becomes weak. But there are nutrients that help maintain its health and normalize its functions.


Althom-  garlic contains a substance allicin, which give it a distinctive aroma and flavor. This substance acts as a protective factor for the liver, as after garlic enters the body, the level of glutathione peroxidase and catalase enzymes increases, which prevents early damage to the walls and tissues of the liver, in addition to being powerful antioxidants. Moreover, garlic prevents the formation of stones in the gallbladder.


Green Tea- Green tea  helps repair damaged liver cells, flushes toxins out of the body, and the caffeine it contains improves bile secretion and metabolism. It is also a good diuretic.


Vegetables - Vegetables  contain a small amount of calories, but against this they are high in nutrients, vitamins and minerals. As well as the dietary fiber necessary for the health and functioning of the intestine. It helps cleanse the body of toxins and waste. Hepatocytes, found in most vegetables, are one of the best building materials for liver cells, as they contribute to their regeneration and repair.


Pumpkin and beets - Pumpkin  contains pectin, riboflavin, beta-carotene and niacin, which accelerate the regeneration of the membranes of liver cells. As for beets, they contain dietary fibers that are not affected by heat treatment. These fibers help reduce the level of "bad" cholesterol and contain the B vitamins that the liver needs.

But in order to maintain the liver in good condition, it is not enough to adhere to a healthy diet, but it must be accompanied by physical activity, giving up eating fried foods and fast foods and reducing citrus, sweets, fatty substances, smoking and alcohol.
