Kaizer Chiefs reached the CAF Champions League final for the first time after drawing 0-0 with Wydad Casablanca in the semi-final match on Saturday evening.

Al Amakhoussi were looking to avoid defeat in order to qualify for the final after their narrow 1-0 victory over the Moroccan giants thanks to Samir Nurkowicz's goal in the first leg last weekend.

Daniel Akpeyi and Nkosingvili Ngkubo have been called up to the starting line-up as interim coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard make changes to the team that started in Casablanca.

The match between Al-Ahly and Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Champions League final is scheduled to take place on July 17, 2021, at the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca, Morocco at exactly nine o’clock in the evening Cairo time.

Wydad dominated the match from the start as Akbeyi was the busiest among the goalkeepers, making an early save to deny Kaabi and Onajem with Chiefs resting the back and absorbing the pressure, then trying to hit the visitors on the counter.

Akbe, who had started prior to facing first Amakhosi champion Bruce Pfuma between the sticks, erred when he grabbed the ball, but the Nigeria international recovered well and parried Walid Al Karti's low shot.

The captains were struggling to deal with crosses played in the penalty area and almost received the ball when the unmarked Kaabi missed the ball completely from close range before former Hebei striker Akpeyi blocked from inside the box.
