An image in which US President Joe Biden appeared kneeling in front of Rivka Ravitz, chief of staff of outgoing Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, caused an uproar on social media.
According to the Hebrew KikAR website, the photo showed Biden bent on his knees in front of Ravitz, who belongs to the ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect.
He added, "Biden took this step after Rivlin told him that Ravitz was the mother of 12 children, so he only bowed in appreciation of her."
The picture spread among Americans on the media, where many described it as "the picture of the week."
