Three children drowned in Beni Suef Governorate, Egypt, after they fell into a pool of water by the Nile River, while they were playing near the agricultural land in the village of El-Shinawiya.

Initial investigations revealed that the three children aged 10, 7 and 4 years old, all of whom live in the village of Al-Shinawiya, were able to retrieve their bodies and transport them to their families’ homes.
It was found from the statements of the three children’s parents that they were accompanied by their families on the agricultural land, and due to the parents’ preoccupation with the land, the children neglected them to play near a deep pool filled with water, as a result of the high level of the Nile River, and with their delay they searched for them to find their bodies floating above the water of the pond, so they pulled them out and take them home.

The necessary report was drawn up on the incident and the Public Prosecution was notified to investigate and complete the legal procedures. It authorized the burial of the three children’s bodies based on the report of the competent health inspector, and requested the investigations of the detectives about the incident.
