Dialogue About Disobedience To Parents

Disobedience from the perspective of Sharia

One of the greatest morals that Islam called for is loyalty to others, and that the people who are most deserving of loyalty and benevolence are the parents for their great favor over their son. Therefore, Islam considers disobedience to parents the second biggest sin after polytheism with God Almighty. Many verses and hadiths that recommend Parents and Berhma, the Prophet said , peace be upon him: (not to tell you the greatest sins. they said: Yes , O Messenger of God, said Polytheism, and disobeying parents) , and said peace be upon him: (satisfaction of God in the satisfaction of the father and the wrath of God in the wrath of the father) , in the hadith that Allah has cursed the contract and his parents, all of alienating disobedience and warn him, and cajole the righteousness of man to his parents , the length of his desire to reward righteousness, for fear of bad omen Impiousness.

Disobedience to parents and its manifestations

The definition of disobedience to parents, linguistically and idiomatically, is as follows:

  • Definition of disobedience language: disobedience is disobedience, and disobedience of a child to his parents is by disobeying their orders, denying their virtue and leaving charity and mercy with them.
  • Definition of disobedience idiomatically : It is the parents’ violation of their permissible matters and their lack of righteousness, and it may be by doing what the parents are offended by and they do not want. And Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, may God have mercy on him, defined disobedience to parents by saying: Disobedience is derived from disobedience, which is severing, and what is meant by it is the issuance of what a parent may say or do to his child except in shirk or disobedience, as long as the parent is not stubborn.

The manifestations of a child’s disobedience to his parents are many, the first of which is not justifying their oath in that which does not disobey God Almighty, and with the child’s ability to carry out an oath to one or both of his parents. Or by insulting and belittling them, frowning at them, not spending on them while carrying out their orders, and long travel or extended absence without a real need for work, earning, study, or the like, and not asking about them, or even going out for adequate jihad without taking their permission. It all comes under the door of disobedience to the parents.

Bad consequences of disobeying parents

It has reached the importance of righteousness and the ugliness of disobedience to parents that God Almighty has forbidden disobedience to His servants even if they are unbelievers, God has commanded the Muslim to reach them as long as the fulfillment of their commands is not shirk or disobedience to God Almighty, and other than that, a person is required to honor his parents and their connection and charity to them. God Almighty said: (And if they strive to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them and accompany them in the graves .  The human Palace in their right to deliberate and deliberately after his long and graciously Ahsanhma he deserved the punishment that sees its impact on the world and the Hereafter, and the bad consequences of the impious to his parents as follows:

  • Bringing a curse and expulsion from God’s mercy to the one who disobeys him, as stated in the honorable hadith: (May God curse the one who disobeys his parents) .
  • The disobedient will prevent his parents from entering Paradise on the Day of Resurrection, for the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “The disobedient, the greedy, and the alcoholic will not enter Paradise .”
  • Not accepting the righteous deeds of the disobedient to his parents, so the disobedient comes to his parents and he did many righteous deeds in his life such as prayer, fasting and other things, but he has wronged the right of his parents and angered them, the Prophet, peace be upon him, says: (He who dies on this will be with the prophets, the truthful and the martyrs on the Day of Resurrection like this , unless his parents do ‘aqeeqah) .
  • Depriving the disobedient to his parents of a good conclusion.
  • The disobedient deserves his parents for the supplication to be answered for him, for the supplication of parents for their child is answered with God Almighty, the Prophet, peace be upon him, says: (Three supplications are answered, there is no doubt about them: the supplication of the oppressed , the supplication of the traveler , and the supplication of a parent against his child) .
  • He brought hatred of God Almighty and the hatred of people for the disobedient to his parents, for if God Almighty hates a slave, he places hatred in the hearts of people for him, and lowers his prestige among them.
  • The entitlement of the disobedient to his parents is the disobedience of his children in the future, for God has written that the reward is of the same kind as the work, and God Almighty will prepare for the one who has a bad attitude with his parents children who treat him the same way.

Pictures of kindness to parents

Islam also prohibited disobedience and abuse of parents .

  • Obedience to them and being kind to them and carrying out their commands, as long as the matter is not in disobedience to the Creator, the Exalted.
  • Humility to them and gentleness in dealing with them.
  • Lower your voice when talking to them, and use the kindest and closest words to them.
  • He bears the difficulty of dealing with them when he is old, and exaggerates his kindness to them at that time.
  • Pray for their forgiveness and mercy in their lives and even after their death.
  • The righteousness of the parents after their death and in that detail was brought by the Prophet peace be upon him , when one asked the companions of what remained from the mainland after the death of his parents , he said to him: (Pray for them and seek forgiveness for them and the enforcement of outdated from beyond the kinship that do not come only with them and honor their friends) ,  All of these deeds can be done by a person after the death of his parents, so that the reward will come down in his balance for his righteousness, and in the balance of his parents if God accepts the work from him for them, and it has been added to that from some scholars that a Muslim reads the Holy Qur’an on their behalf, performs Hajj or performs Umrah, and all of that is from forms of righteousness to them after their death .
