Turkish bread making |
The pioneers of social networking sites circulated a video clip of a Turkish citizen crying in agony because he bought a loaf of stale bread due to its cheap price.
Citizen Ismail Eroglu gave a television interview in which he said that he went to buy stale bread because it was cheap, in front of a factory.
He added, "He told the guard that he was buying bread for the poultry, but in fact he bought it to eat it with his wife."
The man said, in tears, that he receives only £1,500 a month and has applied for jobs in many places in order to get another income but it did not work out.
The Turkish newspaper said that the price of a loaf of bread rose “in Istanbul last month to 2.50 Turkish liras and in the capital, Ankara, to 2.25 pounds, amid fears that the move would upset the balance of low-income families. Pointing out that the sharp depreciation of the lira led to a significant increase in the prices of goods and services, including flour.
