Italian reports said that the Italian club AC Milan is close to signing the Manchester United star, during the winter transfer market.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is now the primary target for Milan to replace Simon Kjaer with the Rossoneri who are looking for an initial loan move.
According to the report, Manchester United are open to loaning the 27-year-old to the San Siro until the end of the season, although the Serie A giants could be asked to add an option to buy in the deal.
Bailly joined Manchester United on a €38m transfer from Villarreal in 2016, but has struggled to play this season, making just seven appearances in all competitions.
Milan are looking for a replacement for their injured defender Simon Kjaer, and Bailly is now one of their primary targets given that Lille are not open to selling Sven Putman in January.
The Rossoneri are also keeping an eye on Manchester City's Nathan Ake, but his salary is too high for them, while they can afford Bayley's.
The Red Devils are currently playing their duties in the Africa Cup of Nations with AC Milan star Frank Kessie, and both are expected to make their Ivory Coast debuts against Equatorial Guinea tonight.
