Heat Wave in Ramadan.. Suggestions for Avoiding Hunger and Thirst During Fasting

The Los Angeles Times website released the most prominent and most significant dietary recommendations to avoid thirst and hunger throughout the month of Ramadan, as the temperatures rise and fasting increases the likelihood of feeling intense thirst and urge to eat.

Dr. Osma Ghani, a nutritionist with one of the nutrition companies, explained that fasting aids in the recovery of the body from diseases. Our digestive system works on a daily basis, but when we fast, it takes a break, which aids in the removal of toxins and purification of the body from any problems associated with it.

Fasting helps to regulate blood sugar, reduce inflammation in the body, improve the brain, and prevent cardiac problems, according to the dietitian.

The dietitian offered some helpful hints for staying hydrated and hungry while fasting, including:

  • Slowing down your eating during Iftar and Suhoor is one of the most effective ways to alleviate stomach ache.
  • You should not skip the Suhoor meal because you will be very hungry during the fasting hours, thus light food is recommended.
  • You might eat a date fruit for breakfast to replenish the energy your body has lost throughout the fasting period.
  • Protein and fibre should be consumed in order to lessen hunger and thirst.
  • Suhoor meals can be high in protein, fruits, and vegetables, which are high in fibre and vitamins that the body need.
  • To avoid sneezing during Ramadan, avoid consuming fried foods.
