Coffee - Lemon |
Accounts have recently proliferated on social media, particularly among "Tik Tok" pioneers, praising having a cup of coffee with lemon juice every day.
Some claim that the combination of caffeine, a chemical found in coffee, and vitamin C, found in lemons, provides a "supercharged" boost of energy, while others tout this "mixture" as a "effective" magic recipe for losing belly fat or relieving headache and migraine discomfort. Others say it is the key to a wrinkle-free complexion on a daily basis.
Faced with such high expectations for this "miracle drink," the German "Focus" website set out to separate fact from fiction, and came to the following conclusions:
According to the aforementioned source, there has been no scientific study that shows a link between a bitter cup of coffee and lowering abdominal fat or battling face wrinkles. On the other hand, a lot of medical studies have shown that drinking coffee can help you lose weight in general, as long as you stick to a diet and don't consume endless cups of coffee, which can be harmful to your health.
Other coffee research discovered that, in addition to cases of headaches alleviated by a cup of coffee, those who habitually drink coffee experienced headaches when they tried to abstain from consuming it.
Vitamin C
Lemon, on the other hand, contains a lot of vitamin C, which is known to help with weight loss by stimulating the metabolism. It's also a stimulating dose that can help with migraine relief. Most notably, this vitamin aids in the creation of collagen in the body, which is thought to be the key to slowing down the ageing process and preventing wrinkles.
All of these findings suggest that each substance can achieve the desired results on its own, as long as other parallel and required conditions for the desired aim are met, such as quitting smoking, eating well, exercising, and so on. However, medicine has yet to settle on the usefulness of a cup of coffee with lemon juice.
