Festival 2022

Following a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the UK's premier rock and metal festival is back in full force this year.

This year's Download Festival is bigger and better than ever, with a lineup chock-full of legendary acts.

Here's all you need to know about tickets, who'll be performing, and how to get there from Birmingham ahead of the festival.

When will Download Festival 2022 Take Place?

The Download Festival 2022 will take place at Donington Park Circuit in Derby from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12.

Who will be Performing at The Festival?

The roster for this year's festival has been finalised, and metalheads who go to Derby will not be disappointed.

On Friday, rock veterans KISS will play on the main stage, after performances by A Day To Remember, Skindred, and Black Veil Brides.

Away from the main stage, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Airbourne, and Electric Wizard will be performing.

Iron Maiden, British metal legend, will headline the main stage on Saturday. As part of their Legacy of the Beast World tour, the band will stop by Download.

Deftones, Shinedown, and Megadeth are among the other Saturday highlights.

Biffy Clyro, a Scottish rock band, will headline the main stage on Sunday, following the likes of Alestorm, Korn, and Rise Against.

The full lineup for the 2022 festival can be found here.

Is it Possible to Obtain Tickets?

The official Download website and Ticketmaster have tickets for three nights and five nights camping.

Three nights of camping costs £260, with children's tickets costing £114.

A five-night camping ticket costs £268, while a five-night child ticket costs £119.40.

Tickets for peaceful camping and the eco area of the camp sites are still available.

If necessary, you can also purchase coach tickets from this section of the website.

How do I Travel from Birmingham to Download Festival?

Regardless matter where you are travelling from, the event grounds are conveniently accessible.

The city of Birmingham is no exception, and here are several options for getting from Birmingham to Download Festival 2022.

Train

From the East Midlands Parkway and Derby train stations, shuttle buses will run to the event grounds.

Direct trains run between Birmingham New Street and Derby, taking between 35 and 45 minutes.

Car

Whether you're travelling from the north, south, east, or west, the event suggests that you take the M1 highway or the A38 or A42 to Download.

Vehicles arriving on-site will take a variety of routes, depending on traffic conditions.

Do not rely on your GPS or assume that the path you took in prior years is right, as this information may be inaccurate, causing your journey to take longer. Wherever possible, always follow the road signs.

Coach

You can arrange a return trip with Big Green Coach, who is a festival official partner.

Coaches pick up and drop off in Birmingham, and tickets are available for purchase on the festival's website.

Dropping off/picking up

At Download Festival, a drop-off/pick-up station is placed inside the Transport Hub, with road signs directing visitors to this point around the festival grounds.
